The Vegas Golden Knights were able to do a quick flip job on the acquisition of forward Marcus Kruger, who they took on from the Blackhawks for some future considerations over the weekend, sending him to Carolina for a 2018 5th round draft pick.
Kruger was a cap casualty of the Blackhawks, making a bit more than $3 million per season and he only posted 5 goals and 17 points in 70 games with the Hawks.
The opportunity that Kruger gets by making the move through Vegas to Carolina does make him into a strong fringe player, possibly into a deep pool worthy forward. The Hurricanes are certainly making good use of their extra cap space and this deal should help them compete a little bit more in the Atlantic next season.
