Later on Wednesday evening, the Winnipeg Jets made a fringe signing of their own, bringing restricted free agent forward Andrew Copp back into the fold with a new 2-year, $2 million deal.
Last season, the 23-year old centre played in 64 games and was good for 9 goals and 17 points, a fair ways out of the worthiness numbers, but not that far. He was 281st among all forwards in scoring and with this deal, it looks like they may want to have him around on the roster a little bit more, which can only translate into a little bit more consistency.
It's hard to say at this time, where his projected rankings are going to land him, but with the changes made in Winnipeg, there appears to be room for him to make some noise.
