On Monday, the Nashville Predators re-signed one of their playoff heroes, forward Frederick Gaudreau, an AHL call-up that came into the lineup, when Ryan Johansen left with his injury in the series against the Ducks. Gaudreau was a huge help down the middle, playing in eight playoff games and scoring 3 goals, including a couple of game-winners.
Gaudreau was rewarded with a 3-year, $2 million deal, which works out to be a $666,667 cap hit per season. It's not exactly a huge deal, nor should we really consider him to be a lock for a lineup spot in the regular season, but he has undoubtedly earned himself a longer look at camp and there are a lot of bubble spots available on their roster, so pay close attention here.
