The Red Wings re-signed restricted free agent defenseman Xavier Ouellet on Monday, giving him a 2-year, $2.5 million deal. The deal is believed to be one-way for both years, so that's a signal that he should be ready for full-time work in Detroit and sitting as the 6th defenseman, he could start to move up the depth chart, when needed.
Last season, Ouellet saw 66 games, scoring 3 goals and 12 points in that time. Depending on who he can line up with, he has some potential for a few more points, where he was only about 5 points away from being worthy last season.
