The Colorado Avalanche have been on trade watch for a little while now, as everyone eagerly anticipates Matt Duchene getting dealt out of Denver. It almost seemed like the deal was done, but as Nashville had been courting the Avalanche in the whole process, but in the end, Colin Wilson is now a member of the Colorado Avalanche and all that went back is a mid-round pick.

Wilson was a pool worthy member of the Predators last season, but some changes apparently needed to be made in Nashville and the cost cutting move that was sending Wilson to Colorado was one of those deals.

The move certainly helps the Avalanche, who are still lacking in the depth department, throughout their roster.  Wilson should step into a top six role with his new team, but from there, it's kind of a crap shoot.  The Avalanche have so much more work to do to their roster, but this is a good start.
