The long-awaited contract extension for Connor McDavid was completed on Wednesday afternoon and it was announced at 8 years, $100 million, making his cap hit, starting in the 2019 season, $12.5 million.
McDavid only finished his second NHL season this past year, but has already shown the world that he's the real deal and he is not only the face of the Oilers' franchise, but soon-to-be the number one guy in the league, if he isn't already. The Art Ross Trophy, Hart Trophy and Ted Lindsay Award winner in the 2017 season is the most dynamic player out there and he'll be an Oiler for a long, long time.
