Top Prospect Signings (Jul 13)

The New York Rangers inked the 7th overall selection from June's entry draft on Thursday, signing forward Lias Andersson to his 3-year entry-level deal.

Andersson is projected to be a top-six forward by most outlets that I've read and that suits them just fine, as their depth up front may be a bit challenged, especially down the road.  He was already playing at the Swedish Elite League level in the 2017 season, which bodes well for his transition to the NHL.

The Rangers may have some forward spots open at training camp, having three bubble players already on their projected 22-man roster and another spot yet to be filled there, but that one will be filled by Mika Zibanejad, once he re-signs.  A solid camp for the 18-year old could boost him into the lineup right away.
