Goalie Announcements (Nov 12)

Well, Jeremy got his win on Saturday night with Cory Schneider and the Devils beating the Panthers, leaving Sunday's action strictly to the overall standings.

There are only four games on the schedule and they are all evening games, so there was no rush to get the goalie post in.

Laurent Brossoit (Eric) versus Braden Holtby (Grant)
The leader in the Mover & Shaker standings, heading into Sunday's action, is Grant's team and the only player he has going today is one of his Washington goalies, Braden Holtby. Grant's team only holds a 2-point advantage over Troy in the weekly race, so a Capitals win would be huge in securing the weekly honour.

Thanks to a back-to-back situation, all signs are pointing to Laurent Brossoit getting the start for the Oilers tonight, a rare start for Eric's number two goalie.  Eric's team is at the opposite end of the spectrum, only 1 point clear of the Basement Dweller spot, before tie-breakers, so he could use a win to save him from a dubious distinction this week.

Keith Kinkaid (N/A) versus Corey Crawford (Jeremy)
If Jeremy's team didn't get the win they needed yesterday, they would have had one more chance today with Corey Crawford and the Blackhawks.  Both the Devils and the Blackhawks are on back-to-backs and it could have been an all-Jeremy match-up, if Cory Schneider didn't go last night for the Devils.  Only one goalie for Jeremy here tonight and he desperately needs the 2 points, as his team is one of three teams heading into tonight's action at 14 points, the worst in the week.

Andrei Vasilevskiy (Wilton) versus John Gibson (Tony)
Two surviving teams will see their goalies go head-to-head in a game that doesn't mean anything to the mini-game, but could have an impact on the standings.  Wilton is hanging around in the top 10 today, while Tony's team has taken another tumble and has fallen back down to 21st after a rough week.  Vasilevskiy is 3rd overall in hockey pool points and has been strong for the Lightning, while it is believed that Gibson will return from a concussion today, giving Tony a huge start, one that could get him back into the top 20 with a good result.

Martin Jones (Chris) versus Jonathan Quick (Chris)
Finally, it's another all-Chris California match-up, with the Sharks heading to Los Angeles to take on the Kings.  The two number ones, Martin Jones and Jonathan Quick are expected to go tonight, which means that should be an easy 2 points for Chris, who's team has also taken a bit of a tumble this week, dropping down to 9th place after such a strong start.  Usually, you'd want both your goalies to be playing on a night, but playing each other isn't exactly the best situation possible.
