Hamonic Placed on the IR

The Calgary Flames placed defenseman Travis Hamonic on the Injured Reserve on Sunday, ahead of their game against the New Jersey Devils, as he is dealing with a lower-body injury and it is expected to keep him out of the lineup for a week.  The placement on the IR allowed the Flames to open up a roster spot for call-up Rasmus Andersson, who is going to be kept around, just in case.

Hamonic isn't exactly producing offensively, as he only has picked up a goal and an assist in the first 13 games of the season.

For Grant, the injuries and missing player games are really starting to add up, as his team has been hovering around in the bottom third in this early part of the year.  Hamonic's lack of production hasn't helped, but neither will his absence even more so.  In terms of overall skater games played, Grant's team ranks 20th in the pool, still 10 games up on last place in the category.  The bottom of the list has been just plagued with injuries and players in the minors.
