News was being fed down the pipe on Tuesday, that the Washington Capitals have agreed to a 1-year entry-level deal with Russian forward Sergei Shumakov, adding one of the KHL's top scorers to their roster for the coming season. The 25-year old was one of CSKA Moscow's leading scorers in the 2018 season, finishing with 17 goals and 40 points in 47 regular season games and does have a career scoring record of 0.51 points per game in his 7-year KHL career.
The Capitals do have a few bubble players on their projected roster, potentially some players that could possibly make a move down for a guy like Shumakov, depending on how training camp goes.
