The New York Islanders have been without forward Andrew Ladd on the ice for the last few days, but the coaching staff is saying that he's day-to-day with some muscle tightness. It sounds like a precautionary measure for a guy who has seen his fair share of NHL training camps and preseasons in his career already. There is still plenty of time left in this preseason to rejoin the team and get some game action in before the start of the season, so there's no need to panic... yet.
If the Islanders intend on competing at all this season, they will definitely need Ladd to be healthy, since their depth will already be challenged.
