Recent Contract Extensions (Sep 13)

Ask and you shall receive.  No wait, that's not right.  Complain and you will expedite proceedings.  That's more like it.

Tyler Seguin's public complaint that he didn't have a contract extension worked out a couple of weeks ago has led to a new deal signed on Thursday and it's a whopper!  The 26-year old was set to become an unrestricted free agent after the 2019 season, but he now has an 8-year, $78.8 million deal in his back pocket.

Seguin was 2nd on the team in hockey pool points last season, finishing with 78 in 82 games, but will now be the highest paid player on the team at the start of the 2020 season.  I don't think a contract extension will affect his overall performance in the coming season and I am going to keep his projection steady at the 80-point range for the year.
