Bad news for the Canucks, as David Booth is now sidelined for the next 4-to-6 weeks with an MCL sprain, after he took a knee-on-knee hit from the Avalanche's Kevin Porter on Tuesday night. The announcement came on Wednesday evening and this will likely keep Booth out of the line-up until the New Year.
Booth was off to a slow start in Florida, before getting traded to Vancouver near the end of October, but in recent weeks, the former 30-goal scorer started to catch fire and start picking up some points. So far in the 2012 season, Booth has 5 goals and 8 assists in 25 games between Florida and Vancouver, which has him ranked 211th in pool scoring, during Wednesday night's action.
This will provide a pretty big sting to Stuart G. in the draft, who used Booth's hot streak to help vault him up into the money spots over the last few weeks. During the Hurricanes/Oilers game, Stuart was ranked in 3rd spot, only 2 points back of 2nd and 20 points back of 1st, but now he has to look down a bit, where he is only 7 points up on 4th.
