The NHL announced on Monday afternoon that they have suspended Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic for one game for his illegal hit on Flyers forward Zac Rinaldo. I have embedded the official NHL video explaining the event and the reasoning for the suspension, so there really isn't too much to discuss in this post.
Lucic will miss Monday night's affair with the Montreal Canadiens and will be eligible to return on Friday, when the team plays again at home to the Panthers.
This suspension is quite minor and shouldn't have too much of an effect on either pool. In the draft, Lucic belongs to Leon G., who currently sits in 17th spot in the standings, 3 points back of 16th spot and 5 points back of 15th. One game from Lucic isn't too much, but it is against the Habs, a team that the Bruins get fired up for, so he may be missed in the end.
