A second suspension was handed down by the NHL on Monday afternoon, as the Department for Player Safety gave Calgary Flames forward Rene Bourque a 2-game suspension for his hit on Brent Seabrook of the Blackhawks in the 1st period of their game on Sunday night.
Bourque is scheduled to miss Tuesday's game against the Minnesota Wild and Thursday's game against the Detroit Red Wings and he will be eligible for when the team travels to Vancouver to take on the Canucks on Friday.
This suspension does not have an effect on the money race in the pool, rather it is situated at the bottom of the standings, where Darren S. finds his team, with Bourque in tow. No, Darren cannot find any luck in this NHL season and this suspension is just another footnote on a horrible, horrible season. The gap for Darren to fill to get to 21st place is now 22 points and it continues to grow, as it did by 4 points last week.
