It has been a long time coming, but the Dallas Stars are preparing for the return of their number one goalie, Kari Lehtonen, who has been deemed good to go for the team, coming off of a groin injury that has kept him on the shelf since the end of November.
The Stars have received some good goaltending from their call-up, Richard Bachman, in Lehtonen's absence, which has earned the young keeper the back-up role going forward, as the team has placed Andrew Raycroft on waivers and he appears to be the odd-man out.
At the time of the injury, Wayne H., who has Lehtonen in the pool, had a 12-point lead on the draft pool and Lehtonen was 11th in pool scoring at the time of the injury. At the point of his return, Wayne sits in 2nd place, 6 points out of 1st place and 3 points up on 3rd place. The loss of Lehtonen was huge for him, but if everything goes well, he could work his way back into the lead.
As for Lehtonen, in a month's time on the shelf, he dropped down to 88th in pool scoring, so he'll have some work to do to get himself in better shape overall.
