Late in the game between the Rangers and the Maple Leafs, Michael Del Zotto was caught up in a foot race for an icing with David Steckel and the Rangers defenseman was not able to pull the chute in time, hitting the boards while on all fours, creating quite the impact. Del Zotto ended up leaving the game and didn't return, but the initial word is that the injury is not serious and he should be good to go, when the club hits the ice again.
It hasn't been a lucky season for John P., who has been continuously battling injuries on his pool team, so a minor knock is worth a sigh of relief. John had a great night to open the second segment, picking up 8 points and moving up a position, to 17th, and if Del Zotto is as healthy as they say, he can continue to make the move up.
On Monday night, Leafs forward Mikhail Grabovski was granted the night off, as his girlfriend went into labour. So, we'll consider this an authorized night off and we'll expect him back in the line-up before too long. The Leafs play on back-to-back nights, going again tonight at home to New Jersey, so he may be questionable to go tonight, but a proud new father would likely want to go out and score a goal for his new bouncing new baby.
Dale B. has Grabovski in the pool this season and his season is going very well, situated in 3rd place after a pretty good night on Monday, picking up 5 points and moved into a tie for 3rd place, edging the decision for the spot, due to goals scored. The assault on 2nd place will likely resume with a busy night in the league on Tuesday.
