That last scratch for Dany Heatley may have had more to do about a recurring groin problem, more than it was a healthy scratch, since the former scoring winger was put on the Injured Reserve by the Anaheim Ducks on Friday afternoon.
On Wednesday night, back when they played the Kings, there was no indication of any injury problems with Heatley, but being as though he is now a 3rd/4th line player on the team, there wasn't any real rush to figure out why he was sitting either.
There has been no timetable published for Heatley's return to the ice for Anaheim, but given his numbers, I would think that the Ducks would be more than happy to try out some more bodies to see if they can improve their scoring rate throughout their line-up.
In four games this season, Heatley has yet to register a point for the Ducks. He missed the early part of the season with this groin problem and he has figured to be a healthy scratch in a contest or two since joining the line-up.
Heatley is one of 11 players drafted in the hockey pool, who have yet to register a point for their pool team. For Stacey C., this is the only zero on his team, but he also has a number of underachievers that have a few more points than Heatley, which justifies why his team is only 6 points from the basement on Friday night.
