Jack Johnson Given Three

The Columbus Blue Jackets will be without defenseman Jack Johnson for the next three games, as he will be serving a suspension for hitting Carolina's Jiri Tlusty on Tuesday night. The open-ice hit was deemed to have the principal point of contact at Tlusty's head, so for that, Johnson will sit. The explanation video is below and it's a good point of reference for these kind of hits going forward.

ImplicationsWith this suspension, Wilton will have both of his Columbus players on the shelf for the next three games, as his number one goalie, Sergei Bobrovsky, is also on the IR with a broken finger.  This will impact the rest of his week, as the Jackets do have another couple games left to play in Week Five and Johnson has been running at nearly a half a point-per-game pace, 5 assists in 12 games.  It won't be a huge impact, by those numbers, but you just never know what could have happened, if he had played.

Since Johnson has been suspended through the end of the week, I have taken his projected games off Wilton's total.
