An undisclosed injury made Bruins forward David Krejci into a last minute scratch, just before Boston took on Ottawa on Saturday night. There has been no update from the Bruins about his injury, except that he was expected to play on Saturday night, but ended up being that scratch. Until there is any update otherwise, Krejci will be on the injured list as day-to-day.
Benson's team has worked its way out of the basement, but still lacks an offensive punch, ranking last in the pool in goals scored with only 17, to date. Benson's team now sits in 20th, 5 points clear of the absolute bottom.
There's lots of chatter in Carolina this weekend, because Alexander Semin was a healthy scratch on Saturday night, as the Hurricanes took on the Arizona Coyotes. The expensive winger may now be running into the same problems that he had in Washington, before he left, which is a cause for concern for his career. There is no word on whether or not he will dress for Sunday's game against the Kings. Semin was joined in the press box by defenseman John-Michael Liles, another player who has been known to find his way to the press box, more often than not, in his career.
In the draft, Dale B. took Semin in the 9th round pick (196th overall), looking to score a big bargain, but enigmatic winger only has 2 assists in eight games for the Hurricanes, ranking 461st in pool scoring overall. This means he's far from a bargain. In Liles' case, he was taken by Stacey C., who hasn't had much luck with his players, in general. Stacey is now our basement dweller, both overall and for Week Four.
A couple of roster notes for the Florida Panthers on Saturday, as they are befallen with injuries and other assorted issues, two of their players were taken in the pool and noted here. Jonathan Huberdeau was held out of Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Flyers, because of an illness. He's currently listed as out day-to-day. Alexander Barkov was also held out of the game, as he's dealing with a lower-body injury and the team lists him as day-to-day as well. Neither of these injuries seemed to affect the Panthers, who beat the Flyers, 2-1.
This appears to be skater games missed by Clayton and Stuart, both teams around the 80-point bracket in the standings, Clayton in 10th at 87 points and Stuart in 17th at 79 points. It seems unlikely that there will be any great consequences for either team, due to these notes.
The Edmonton Oilers are holding their collective breath, as they wait on the official word for Taylor Hall's lower-body injury. Hall left Saturday's contest against the Canucks, after crashing into the Vancouver net at a high rate of speed. The Oilers are to start a road trip on Tuesday in Philadelphia, which will extend into Week Six and it sounds like Hall will be left behind for the time being, as his injury gets completely assessed.
Hall was the 7th overall pick in the draft this season, taken by Wyllie, who was looking to ride his hot hand into some money, finally. After Saturday night, Hall was ranked 47th overall in scoring, with 10 points in 11 games, which isn't too bad. This is definitely a major hit to Wyllie's season, especially with so many teams in tight. Wyllie starts Sunday in 14th spot, 16 points out of the money.
An updated list of injuries can be found here.
