New Jersey forward Adam Henrique was out of the Devils' line-up on Thursday night for their game against the St. Louis Blues, due to a lower-body injury that he suffered on Tuesday night. According to the Devils coaching staff, Henrique suffered a freak injury, jumping over the boards for a line change and was unable to continue. He was listed as day-to-day and questionable for tonight's game, away to Detroit.
It was a gain one, lose one situation for Wes on Thursday night, as he saw the return of Paul Stastny in St. Louis. Wes hasn't had the best of weeks in Week Five, only picking up 7 points through Thursday night, dropping down from 3rd place to 6th. If Henrique can return on Friday night, he won't be in too much of a panic.
Jake Gardiner, defenseman for the Maple Leafs, had an early finish to his night against the Avalanche after blocking a shot with his leg and being forced to leave the game. The coaching staff suggested that Gardiner may have suffered a deep bone bruise and he'll be listed as out day-to-day for the time being.
Mike has had one of the hotter teams in Week Five, finishing Thursday night with 18 points in the week and his team has moved up from 20th to 17th, starting the climb up the standings. The loss of Gardiner, who has 2 points in 11 games this season, may hurt his average defense some, but at his scoring rate, it may only be a drop in the bucket missed.
