Morning Player Notes in the Draft (Feb 24)

Shea Weber's name was a bit of a surprise to see on the scratch list for Tuesday night's game between the Predators and Maple Leafs, as he has been reported to be suffering from a lower-body injury. Unfortunately, that's all that has been reported between sites, oh and that he's listed as out day-to-day.  If something more comes around, I'm sure there'll be a post here at some point.

Stacey M.'s team hasn't been in the Basement Dweller nod in the Newsletter for about a month, but that doesn't mean it has been getting much better.  Her team has dropped from 21st to 23rd, since the last time it was mentioned in the weekly rag and this injury could be the icing on that cake.

The Rangers had to do some calling up, as their blueline took another hit on Tuesday night, as Marc Staal returned to the news page, this time with a lower-body injury, just believed to be a minor tweak.  The team sent Brady Skjel back down to the minors on Wednesday morning, because it is believed that both Staal and Ryan McDonagh are close to returning to the lineup.  The Rangers are playing again on Thursday night, in St. Louis, so we'll see whether or not they'll be in the lineup.

The hockey pool gods, if there are any, are not on Grant's side this season, as his attempt at staying out of the basement is being hindered by a string of injuries.  His team is staying afloat so far this week, keeping pace with his competition and even gaining a bit of ground on Benson.
