Morning Player Notes in the Draft (Feb 9)

Florida Panthers forward Aleksander Barkov was on the receiving end of an open-ice hit from Red Wings forward Justin Abdelkader in his own zone, jarring the recently-extended forward's body and forcing him from the game, likely for precautionary measures, thanks to some time in the quiet room.  As of Tuesday morning, there has been no full update on Barkov's condition, but he has been sent back home, as he won't be playing.  Still no mention of any concussions, but we're beginning to wonder over here.

Ryan's team has been enjoying the season that Barkov has been having this year, as he has been one of the better picks in the draft this year, taken in the 8th round and ranks as a 4th round pick with 35 points thus far.

Montreal defenseman Jeff Petry is not expected to be in the lineup tonight with the Lightning in town, as he is reportedly dealing with a lower-body injury.  There isn't much detail on the injury, nor the timetable for his return, so he'll be listed as out day-to-day, until otherwise noted.

Stacey M.'s team is still mired down in 20th place after a rough second segment to the season, where her team finished 25th in scoring, Week Ten through Week Eighteen.  The start of the third segment is off to a questionable start with injury problems like this.
