Morning Player Notes in the Draft (Mar 17)

It was back up to the press box for defenseman Erik Gustafsson again, as the Blackhawks rearguard made way for Christian Ehrhoff in their current rotation. Of course, as soon as he returns at the end of a week, he gets taken off the list and then gets republished on the blog when he heads back upstairs. Only three and a half weeks left in the season, so his amount of returns will be limited.

Of course, this gives the blog a chance to update you on John S.'s status on a semi-weekly basis.  After Wednesday night's action, John's team is in good shape for the week, picking up 11 points after three nights of action and currently up to 18th in the standings.  His next move up is still about 8 points away, which gets harder with a defender in the press box on a regular basis.

After a torrid start to the season, the freshman Swede in New York, Oscar Lindberg, really cooled off and hasn't been nearly as effective as he was to start the year, likely due to the grind of the long NHL season.  On Wednesday night against the Ducks, he was up in the press box getting a rest.

Since getting picked up in the first Waiver Draft of the year, Mike has only collected 9 points in 38 appearances, which is a real disappointment, since Lindberg had 17 points in his first 28 games.  Despite Lindberg's absence last night, Mike's team is still in the hunt for the Mover & Shaker, sitting with 13 points this week, tied for 1st with Scott and Eric.
