Morning Player Notes in the Draft (Mar 8)

Boston Bruins defenseman Kevan Miller suffered an upper-body injury on Saturday, believed to be in the shoulder area, which kept him from traveling with the team down to Florida for their 2-game set. Miller missed Monday night's contest against the Panthers and will miss tonight's game against the Lightning as well.  He is considered day-to-day for right now, but that's the only real update we have thus far.

Miller was a Waiver Draft pick-up for Allan this season, but hasn't proved to be a beneficial addition, as his 4 points are the same as what Dan Girardi of the Rangers has had since the start of Week Nineteen, being the player that Allan dropped to get him.  Allan's team has 1 point in the first night of the week, getting off to a bit of a rough start.

Maybe that Florida air has really had an effect on newly-acquired Teddy Purcell, as he has only suited up for a couple games with the Panthers since the trade deadline saw him move from Edmonton to Sunrise, and his groin is already acting up on him.  Purcell missed Monday night's game against the Bruins.  He's currently listed as day-to-day, but I couldn't see the Panthers rushing him back into the lineup, as they are sitting rather comfortably in a playoff spot in the East.

For Mike, there isn't very much left in the season for his team, except sit and enjoy the rest of the year, as best as possible.  His team sits in 22nd, 26 points up on last place.

A hit into the end boards by Colorado's Matt Duchene ended the night of Arizona's Oliver Ekman-Larsson prematurely, having to leave Monday night's game in the 3rd period.  As of Tuesday morning, there hasn't been much of an update, except to say that he's currently day-to-day.  The Coyotes are next in action on Wednesday night in Vancouver and his participation is questionable, at best.

Eric's team topped out at 5th place back in Week Twenty, but since then, has fallen off the pace again, dropping down to 9th place last week and not gaining anymore traction.  His team is 27 points out of the money and desperately needs his top defender healthy, if he is going to make any sort of run.
