Race to the Sin Bin (Mar 15)

Reilly Smith of the Florida Panthers really kicked off the week with the fight, instigator and misconduct in Monday night's game against the Islanders, so hopefully that's a sign of things to come.  For Jeremy, it's too little, too late for the PIM pool, but it sets a good example for Week Twenty-Four.

Derek & Dan made up a couple more minutes on Wes on Monday night, thanks to a single minor penalty, but they will have the upper hand on Tuesday night, with eight games on the schedule.  The pool's third duo will have Chris Neil going again tonight, with the Minnesota Wild in Ottawa to take on his Senators.  They will also have Justin Abdelkader going for the Red Wings, as they visit the Broad Street Bullies (or a 2016 representation thereof), who has been good for a penalty here and there.

Injuries, suspensions and demotions have really crippled Wes' team in the PIM pool, but they are still holding tight with a 22-minute lead.  All three of his potential big guns are not able to go tonight, so he is left with Travis Hamonic of the Islanders, as his main goon tonight, as he visits the Pittsburgh Penguins.  Next up on Wes' list is Steven Stamkos, who has 30 PIM this season, and he'll have the Toronto Maple Leafs, where he'll be more about scoring goals than chucking knuckles in front of his hometown crowd.

John R.'s quest to the top five in the PIM pool is chipping away at the mountain of minutes his team needs to get there and he'll likely get some help again tonight.  His team begins the night 39 minutes behind Stuart's team and he'll have both of his big guns going, as Tom Wilson and the Capitals have the Hurricanes and Ryan White will play for those same Bullies mentioned above, against Detroit.

We've got some good match-ups tonight, so hopefully this pool can ramp up the time spent in the sin bin.  It'll keep a little bit of flavour down the stretch to the end of the season.
