Sabres Also Shut Down Kane

More injury news from Buffalo on Thursday morning, as the Sabres have announced that the upper-body that Evander Kane is currently dealing with, now has a timetable of about 3-to-4 weeks, effectively ending his regular season.

As of last Summer, Kane was a card carrying member of the Injury Prone List on this blog, and his 2016 season has been much of the same as the rest of his career.

Kane's season now finishes at 65 games played, scoring 20 goals and 35 points.  His scoring, as of today, has him outside of the top 200 in the pool rankings, which is a pretty big disappointment, given all the hype of his acquisition last year.

The Sabres are showing signs of good things to come, some real potential, but Kane has to be one of those guys that reveals his talent from his potential, for this team to really move forward.

For Derek & Dan, their Sabres representation is now nil for the last week and a bit in the regular season.  They were counting on Kane's PIM total to pad their stats this season, as his contribution of 91 PIM has been a real blessing to their cause.  Still, they are carrying quite the lead into Thursday night's action, which will be outlined later on this afternoon.
