Race to the Sin Bin (Mar 10)

Derek & Dan survived the possible onslaught of Wes' goons on Wednesday night and now the edge belongs to the duo tonight, as injuries are playing their part tonight, taking a couple of key figures out of the race tonight.

The duo's toughest hired muscle, Chris Neil, goes for the Senators tonight in Florida, while Wes' defender for Ottawa, Mark Borowiecki, is now done for the rest of the year with a knee injury.  Advantage: Derek & Dan.

Adding to their advantage tonight are three more players that are all over 70 minutes in penalties this season... Evander Kane of the Sabres, Zack Kassian of the Oilers and Justin Abdelkader of the Red Wings.  All three are quite liable to find a seat in the box for at least two minutes.

Wes only has one ruffian going for his side tonight, as the New Jersey Devils are in San Jose to take on the Sharks and Jordin Tootoo will have to carry the load for our PIM leader tonight.

The lead in the race is only 28 minutes and between Kane and Kassian, they've come close to that total in one game each this year.  Can either of them explode and close this gap up tightly?

If the weekly race was a thing this year, then Dale B. would be the one to watch this week, as he leads the pool with 19 PIM through Wednesday night.  His only marquee player in the PIM pool (over 70 minutes) is P.K. Subban of the Canadiens and he'll be up against those Sabres tonight, who will likely bring enough speed for Subban to at least earn a hooking or holding call tonight.
