Top Prospect Signing (Jul 13)
The Edmonton Oilers and Jesse Puljujarvi agreed upon their entry-level commitments on Wednesday afternoon, as he becomes the 8th player taken in the 2016 draft to sign his first deal into the NHL and by all accounts, he should be dressed for opening night, if what we've seen about this kid is true.
It was confirmed later in the evening, that the 3-year deal will carry the maximum cap hit of $925,000 for each of the three years and he will also have plenty of bonuses to try and make, which could lift him over the $3 million mark, if all goes well.
The lanky winger is already rocking an NHL-sized frame and a boatload of talent to go with it, so much so, there was some early talk at the beginning of last season, that he was the true challenger for 1st overall in the draft, but somewhat fell off a little bit, but only to Edmonton's gain.
Let's see what the rest of the Summer brings for the Oilers and we'll see where the projections fall for him, but I would imagine that if there is a rookie pool, he would be a good kid to pick-up.
