The NHL has decided to suspend Kings forward Jarret Stoll for one game after his hit from behind on Sharks defenseman Ian White on Thursday night. The hit was clearly from behind and it appears that White has suffered some sort of injury, although that has yet to be made official what type of injury, although the indications of a concussion are definitely there. A video clip below shows the offense.
Stoll is currently in Box 6 of the playoff pool and has been taken three times out of 71 teams, so the overall effect of missing one game is fairly limited. The Kings were not a popular team on the sheet and the likelihood of them sticking around in the playoffs are fairly limited, especially with their injury status the way it is.
Now, the loss of White to the Sharks is a little bit more significant, but I will be waiting to see a bit more on his status before I do up an injury post.
