Sheet Player News (Apr 8)

A head injury has sidelined Avalanche defenseman Matt Hunwick, likely for the remainder of the season.  The Box 29 blueliner has now missed a couple of games due to the injury and there is no word as to whether or not he'll be missing any more time, but it might be safe to assume that he likely won't be risked in games that mean nothing.  With some of the other talent in that box, there was no chance you had Hunwick in the pool anyways.

On Thursday afternoon, word came down that Raffi Torres of the Canucks was given a 4-game suspension by the league for his blind side check to the head of Jordan Eberle on Tuesday night.  Fortunately for Eberle, he was okay and the hit wasn't as devastating as it may have looked when it initially happened, but by the new rules in place to curb such hits, Torres was still handed the ban, which included Thursday night's home finale against the Wild, Saturday against the Flames and two playoff games as well.  The Box 7 forward finishes the year as a middle of the pack player in his sheet box and will not be in the playoff pool competition.
