Laying insult to injury on Saturday night, Milan Lucic received a match penalty for cross-checking Maxim Lapierre in the third period of Game 2 of the Bruins/Canadiens series. With the Bruins already up 5-1 in the third period, a mess of sticks and bodies had come together when Lucic received his 2 minutes for cross-checking and a match penalty, which is an immediate ejection and a phone call with the NHL headquarters.
After the meeting on Saturday, it was determined that he will miss Game 3 of the series, which will go on Monday in Montreal.
In the first two games of the series, Lucic has a pair of assists. He was also taken 19 times in the pool, making him the second-most popular Bruins player selected, behind Tim Thomas.
