Thursday's Preview (4 Nights Left)

Points were not abundant for the top five on Wednesday night, as predicted, in the only two games. Amazingly, with only two players in the line-ups last night, Clayton still managed to knock out 4 points to increase his lead a little bit and keep himself all that much safer.

Benson and Marcus continue to hang around in a tie for fourth, only 7 points back of Peter for third. Peter has not had a good week in Week Twenty-Eight, only having 4 points through the first three nights. He will need a huge night on Thursday to fend off the two on-comers.

At first glance, the big night doesn't look so big for a couple teams, as both John and Marcus have 4 and 5 games to play, respectively. Both teams do have a start expected tonight, however, which does help a little bit. Peter and Benson will try and make a run for some big points tonight, as they are sitting with 8 and 9 games, respectively, and both are each carrying a start as well. That should make for some good racing tonight.

The biggest point of note tonight is the number of goalies on the table, who are now sitting, instead of starting. Brian Elliot lost favour in Ottawa, Marty Turco is still hurt in Dallas and Ty Conklin takes a back seat in Detroit. Conklin is expected to have one of the two starts on the weekend, so all is not lost for Benson in that department.

This is the second-to-last big night in the league, as Saturday will also be a huge night. These are the nights teams in the top five need to make a move.
