Another deal swung by the St. Louis Blues sees them acquire young forward T.J. Hensick from the Colorado Avalanche for prospect Julien Talbot.

Hensick, a 2005 3rd rounder for the Avalanche, has been trying to work his way into the Avalanche line-up on a regular basis, but only seems to get bit work out of the organization and was seemingly falling further down the depth chart more than anything, especially with the emergence of Matt Duchene and Ryan O'Reilly.

Talbot, on the other hand, has been toiling in the AHL with Peoria for the past few seasons and was finally signed to a deal with the Blues in 2008, but didn't see time with the big club.  I can't say much more than that, but there might be something that the Avalanche scouts know about him that a lot of us don't.

If anything, I am expecting to see Hensick make a run in training camp for the Blues, trying to crack the opening night line-up with them. I don't know how he'll fare, but I think he'll get a better crack at the NHL with the Blues than he did with the Avalanche, but how much better is going to be decided in September.
