The Montreal Canadiens have announced that they have re-signed Mathieu Darche to a new 1-year deal on Tuesday. Financial terms were not disclosed at the time of the release, but it probably isn't a big deal. Darche just completed his first season with the Canadiens and was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in July.
In 2010, Darche only played in 29 games for the Canadiens in the regular season, scoring 5 goals and 5 assists. Darche also made 11 playoff appearances with the club, only picking up an assist in the Spring. With those kind of numbers, he could have an outside shot at making the club and if he can get a whole season, he'd be good for about 30 points. For now, however, we won't put him on the list, but he is worth a mention as someone to look out for.
