2014 Draft Class Signings (Sep 3)

The draft class from June continues to get signed up, as the 1st overall pick, defenseman Aaron Ekblad, finally put pen to paper on Wednesday. The Florida Panthers locked up their new prized possession and you could imagine, it is the rookie maximum for Ekblad, starting off with a $925,000 salary, plus entry-level bonuses.

With the signing of Ekblad, that means the top four picks from the draft have all been signed for the coming year and 18 out of 30 picks now have contracts going into the 2015 season, although they all likely won't be used, rather they'll slide for a year or two, which would extend them for a couple of seasons.

Another point of note, it sounds like Ekblad is scheduled to participate in rookie camp for the Panthers and his concussion symptoms have now passed and he's good to go.
