Injury Updates, Part 2 (Sep 24)

A lower-body injury will keep off-season acquisition Mason Raymond out of the Calgary Flames line-up for the Kraft Hockeyville game on Wednesday night.  The injury does not sound very serious and it will offer up an open roster spot for one of the kids competing for a job, getting an extra look in training camp.  It does sound like Raymond should be ready for opening night.

Raymond is projected to be a decent pool player this year, as he should carry some good-sized minutes for a Flames team that will struggle with their veteran presence.  I have him in the 40-point range, which could make him into a mid-round pick in the draft.

Updates were posted by the Nashville Predators on Wednesday afternoon and the two of any sort of pool concern, shook down like this... forward Viktor Stalberg is expected to miss the next 2-to-4 weeks with a lower-body injury, while forward Matt Cullen will be out day-to-day with his lower-body injury.

Neither player are expected to make big impacts on the hockey pool, but if they were healthy, they could certainly give some support.  Plan accordingly around these two.
