The injury bug is biting down hard on the draft early on and the season hasn't even started yet.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have announced that forward David Booth will now be expected to miss four weeks with a fractured foot after blocking a shot on Sunday night against the Sabres.
Booth came to Toronto via free agency in the Summer, played in Vancouver last season, scoring 9 goals and 19 points in 66 games for the Canucks.
Officially, Booth is the first player eligible for the preseason waivers, if Ryan decides to do so. Ryan took Booth late in the draft and will likely miss out on a couple weeks of action, if he decided to keep the injury prone forward. Stay tuned to see if Booth gets dropped before the puck does on this regular season.
