Do you ever wonder if Taylor Hall has his own mug in the Oilers' infirmary, much like Tim "the Toolman" Taylor did at the hospital on Home Improvement? I certainly do.
Now, as the story goes, Hall was out with a leg injury, which he suffered a couple of weeks ago, came back for one game and suffered another lower-body injury. The first injury was determined to be a bone bruise in his leg, after colliding with a teammate. In his return from that injury, he then suffered an ankle injury, after taking a slash to the area, which had kept him out for the last couple of games, but now the Oilers have revealed that there is a fracture in that injured ankle and it will keep him out 4-to-6 weeks.
The oft-injured forward for the Oilers is definitely a huge risk in the hockey pool ranks, as his upside is quite high, despite being on a woeful team, but his health always remains a question. I don't know if I could possibly dignify him with any better than having him on my Injury Prone List, which he'll officially become a member of this Summer.
The 23-year old forward will go into this next extended break with only 11 goals and 30 points in 42 games with the club this season, which ranks him 147th overall in pool scoring, after Monday night.
There's no question that he was one of the bigger disappointments in the opening round of the hockey pool draft, where Wyllie took Hall with the 7th overall pick, likely not taking into account his injury prone nature. Hall is officially the worst pick in the round and has been doubled up in points by a few players taken after him.
Wyllie is 5 points clear of last place after Monday night, but going forward without his 1st round pick won't help his cause any. Of course, Allan and Ryan are also having problems at the bottom of the table this year, so the race will be tight for the Olli bobblehead.
