For the first time this season, Kyle Palmieri was a healthy scratch for the Anaheim Ducks, currently on a stretch where he has been on the ice for more goals against than goals for and that has been a concern for the defensive-minded leaders of the Pacific Division. Hard to think that the demotion would last, especially given that the Ducks couldn't pull out a win against the Washington Capitals on Friday night.
It isn't quite a big deal today, as Palmieri was only taken this week in the Waiver Draft, but has yet to be activated to Troy's lineup, but I thought I would at least point it out, just in case it does stretch into next week, when he does become active.
A lower-body injury kept the injury prone defenseman Mike Green out of the Washington Capitals lineup again this season. There was some hints of an injury through the day on Friday, but Green became a late scratch and rookie defenseman Cam Schilling made his season debut. Green has only played in 44 of 53 games for the Capitals this season, scoring 5 goals and 32 points, ranking 115th overall in pool scoring, through Friday night.
Now, this would be considered some bad news for Troy, who had dropped down to 8th in the standings on Friday night, and also fell 5 points back of Tony for 7th place at the moment. The changes can't be made soon enough for some teams and I think Troy could have one of those teams.
