All of a sudden, it turned into a big day for demotions and promotions in the NHL and there are a few to cover, including a likely conditioning swap, as the Tampa Bay Lightning have again recalled Kristers Gudlevskis, presumably to give Andrei Vasilevskiy some work, as Ben Bishop continues to carry the load for the Lightning. Vasilevskiy doesn't have to pass through waivers, nor does Gudlevskis, so the Bolts are taking full advantage of this and giving their number two some games as the number one down in the minors.
This shouldn't be considered as any missed starts for Mike, who has been having a pretty good week this week, but at least a sign that there should be a start upcoming for Vasilevskiy in the next week or so, as the Bolts are preparing for him with game action.
Out since the middle of January, Columbus defenseman David Savard has been activated from the IR on Friday, ahead of their Saturday game, home to the Senators. Savard has 16 points in 39 games this season for the Jackets, so his output will be greatly appreciated.
Good news for Troy, as he continues to wait on some more injury news from Columbus, as he is 34 points out of the money and needs a big boost for the stretch run. How much will this help?
