Fractured Jaw Sidelines Stewart
There is a fine chance that the regular season is may be over for Chris Stewart of the Ducks, who suffered a fractured jaw in his fight with Blue Jackets defenseman Dalton Prout this week. The prognosis for his injury is anywhere between 4-to-8 weeks, the lower side would likely mean he would return with a full face shield, if he wanted to play any more.
It hasn't been a terribly productive year for Stewart, as he may or may not finish the year with 8 goals and 18 points in 48 games with the Ducks, a good indication of some of the team's early struggles, since they were looking for a little bit more from the gritty winger. As of Sunday morning, he was ranked 307th overall in pool scoring.
Ryan's team finished the night in 8th place in the standings, losing a tie-break to Eric in the standings at 410 points, now 23 points out of the money. Ryan's team is not necessarily out of the money race and Stewart wasn't a big part of his overall scoring structure, so if the rest of his team picks up their socks, they still have a shot. He has the rookie money anyways, so it shouldn't be too big of a deal.
