Gaborik's IR Coffee Mug Warm Again

The Los Angeles Kings suffered a pretty good blow on Friday night, as Marian Gaborik suffered a lower-body injury, believed to be to his knee and on Saturday, he was placed on the Injured Reserve, because of it.

Gaborik suffered the injury early on in the game in a collision with Dominic Moore and was unable to continue playing and reports are now out there that he is on his way back to Los Angeles to have his knee looked at.  This doesn't sound like good news for the often injured forward and missing time will begin this afternoon, with the Kings in New Jersey, as they continue their current road trip.

In 54 games this year, Gaborik has 12 goals and 22 points, which isn't exactly sniper-like numbers, but the Kings have a formula for winning without those big numbers and those 12 goals have counted well for their side.  It will still be a big loss for the team moving forward, especially, if this is as bad as it sounds.

Neil's team is really taking a kicking this week and we're all out of Waiver Drafts on the year.  You consider Gaborik out, Mike Cammalleri still out for the Devils, Cam Ward going down last night for Carolina and Patrice Bergeron mysteriously getting hurt for Boston... Neil is in a whole lot of trouble!  His status as a potential money team is severely in doubt.

At the time of this post, he was in 4th place, 16 points out of the money, but I have a feeling he won't be finishing there.
