On Tuesday, the Avalanche announced that they signed one of their three 2007 2nd round draft picks, T.J. Galiardi, to an entry-level deal. Galiardi, who played with the Calgary Hitmen, led the WHL in playoff scoring this Spring in his rookie season with the club. He also played a seaon at Dartmouth College and was named to the league's All-Rookie Team as well that year.
The Avalanche are looking forward to seeing what he has at their development camp this summer and may earn a good look at training camp. His could be a name to watch out for next year in a deep pool.
Galiardi's signing is the second Hitmen player in as many days, while WHL Player of the Year, Karl Alzner, is also likely on the radar for his NHL club in Washington. Ryan White was signed by the Canadiens yesterday to an entry-level deal.
