The Panthers announced on Thursday that they had signed their first round pick from last summer, Keaton Ellerby, to an entry-level deal. Ellerby, 19, is a 6'4" defenseman with good skating ability and puck handling and wasa considered one of the blue-chip prospects from last summer's draft. He played for Team Canada in junior competitions over the past year and should be a good fit to the Panthers' organization. It is very likely that he'll get a long look in training camp.
