Well, it's all over and done with when it comes to the Fabian Brunnstrom sweepstakes and the Dallas Stars have come out on top. Brunnstrom signed a 2-year, entry level deal, that should rival those of a top 5 pick in the entry draft. It is speculated that he could earn somewhere in the neighbourhood of $2.5 million after all bonuses are considered, but it will be a while before those numbers are made public.
Brunnstrom, 23, is considered to be the best player outside of the NHL at this time and the Dallas Stars had made the best package to pick up the winger. He's listed at 6'1" and 202 lbs., so size is certainly one of his strengths. He finished his first Swedish Elite League season with 37 points in 54 games this past season.
It will be very interesting to see what kind of impact he has with the Stars and whether or not he has the right make-up for the NHL.
