Top prospect of the Canadiens, Louis Leblanc, will have to undergo shoulder surgery in this off-season. Leblanc suffered the injury in junior and surgery should ensure that he will be ready for Habs training camp in the Fall. Leblanc was thought to be close to making the Canadiens line-up for the 2011 season, but just fell short of making the leap and was sent back to junior for the season. He could be a good one down the line.
Some minor abdominal surgery will be needed on Flyers forward Kris Versteeg in the off-season, as it was announced on Monday. Versteeg was said to be playing hurt for the Flyers in their shortened playoff run and it may have showed in his playoff numbers, scoring only 1 goal in 11 games. He should be good to go for training camp in September.
It wasn't a very good season for Eric Fehr in 2011, dealing with a number of injuries and limiting his season to only 52 games and 20 points in the regular season and 1 goal in five games in the playoffs. Fehr will undergo shoulder surgery in the off-season to try and bounce back in the 2012 season, hopefully making him into a better hockey pool pick than his 2011 ranking of 401st.
