The Detroit Red Wings are already having some injury scares in their line-up and we're still a week away from the regular season even starting. On Wednesday night, forward Tomas Tatar had to leave the game, with what is believed to be a head injury, after crashing into the boards and taking a linesman's knee to the head.
There has been no official word on the injury yet, but Tatar was likely held out for precautionary measures and will probably be looked at in the next couple days. Tatar was Dale C.'s 10th round pick in the draft, 209th overall.
It sounded like a pretty rough night for Oilers forward David Perron, who left the game with a rib injury and didn't come back. Perron had left the game earlier to attend to another matter, not sure if it was the rib injury initially, but he did return, only to skate in another couple shifts or so. As of Thursday morning, there still wasn't a concrete update, but we'll have him in as day-to-day, until anything changes.
Perron was the 8th round selection for Stacey C., who is hoping that some new linemates in Edmonton will immediately make Perron into a bargain pick. Assuming that he stays healthy and all.
