2015 All-Star Game Pool Results

By no means, should the All-Star Game be taken seriously, unless you have money on the game in some kind of form or fashion. The defense-less style of play is just meant for a laugh and a good time, with certain hopes that there will be some flashy moves and faster hands entertaining the crowd and sounding the horn.  If that was indeed how the measure should be for the game, I would think it was a resounding success.

The conglomerate of skilled players that descended upon Columbus, OH did the trick for me on Sunday night, scoring a record-setting 29 goals and it really made me wish we had money going in the hockey pool, because it would have made the goalfest that much more entertaining.

Team Toews came back from a disappointing showing at the Skills Competition to lay a lickin' on Team Foligno, winning 17-12 in the end and capping off a pretty entertaining weekend, even though we didn't get to see any of the Mascot Showdown, which had been pumped for the fans attending the festivities in Columbus.

With all those goals, there was a lot of points to be had and a couple teams had the combination of players, as two sides finished with 10 points each.

Grant K. would be our winner, via tie-breakers, thanks to his trio of players, managing to score goals, as well as points.  Patrice Bergeron led the way for his side, picking up a goal and 4 assists, while Steven Stamkos had 2 goals and an assist, while Rick Nash had a pair of goals.  Having both Stamkos and Nash on his pool team this year, it's no wonder he leads everyone in goals scored, so far.

Unfortunately, this year, we won't be giving any money or prizes away for the All-Star Game, but it is something I'm seriously looking into for next season.  It definitely would have been fun to watch this race develop over the course of the three periods.
