I think there was a point in time last week, where I wasn't quite on the ball, as I didn't have Martin Hanzal on the injury page or the blog with his injury and at around the same time, Marco Scandella of the Wild went down with an upper-body injury, which I failed to catch as well.
On Wednesday, Scandella was also placed on the Injured Reserve with his upper-body injury, mostly because he had already missed his obligatory week and the placement on the IR would open up a roster spot for a healthy body. Scandella will be eligible to come off the IR when he's ready, but there was no indication of when he'll return, but he is still considered day-to-day at this point.
In 34 games this season, the 24-year old blueliner has 9 goals and 15 points, currently ranked 281st in pool scoring, which isn't a bad year at all, to this point.
Scandella was a Waiver Draft pick-up for Stacey C. this season and he has collected 6 points since his activation, which has been decent, especially for a defenseman these days. Overall, Stacey has been a positive team since the Waiver Draft, as his picks have outscored his drops by a 9-point margin, exactly what you're looking for at this draft.
Going into Thursday's action, Stacey is in the running for the Mover & Shaker of the week, 2nd in scoring with 15 points and has moved up to 14th place in the process, now 15 points back of 10th place.
